Our Story
Since 1991, Dr Sikki (Surandar) Singh has been committed to treating children and adults with cleft lip, palate, and facial deformities, particularly those from underserved communities with little to no access to specialist care. Over time, the demand for this life-changing treatment grew beyond what one practitioner could manage alone.
In response, Dr Singh founded the Wentworth Foundation, a now internationally recognised, multi-award-winning non-profit that provides comprehensive cleft treatment from birth to adulthood.
Through this work, he saw that truly effective care required more than surgery alone — it required a team of specialists addressing not only physical but also emotional and social wellbeing. That vision gave rise to the Durban North Smile Centre, where skilled professionals work together to support every patient with coordinated, compassionate care.
